About Our Program
See general FAQ about the MCAT
What are the class sizes?
Our MCAT classes are typically 5-10 students. Our student-to-teacher ratio never exceeds 8 and larger classes are staffed with an additional instructor.
How is Ivy Global different than other schools?
Most schools provide instructors who do not possess the skills and experience
necessary for effective MCAT teaching. The teaching method at these schools
is often generic and does not sufficiently recognize the unique needs of each
student. Ivy Global prides itself on its uniquely tailored program and its
top quality instructors.
Who are your MCAT instructors?
We carefully choose instructors who combine outstanding performance on the
MCAT with a passion for teaching. Our instructors are experts in teaching
the MCAT.
Should I take an MCAT class or private tutoring?
Both our MCAT classes and our one-on-one
private MCAT tutoring will provide you
with the knowledge and preparation you need to improve your performance
on the MCAT. The classes are well suited for students who are new to the
MCAT and who want to learn about all aspects of the test. Private tutoring
is well suited for students who learn more effectively in a one-on-one
context, or who need to improve on only specific sections or question
types on the MCAT.
Which MCAT class should I take?
Ivy Global offers both a Full Course (80
hrs) and a Crash Course (32 hrs).
Both our MCAT classes will cover all aspects of the test and will equip
you with the most effective strategies for tackling every question type
on the test. The Crash Course will cover all the essential concepts whereas
the Full Course will cover each of the concepts more thoroughly. We recommend
taking the class that will best fit with your schedule and budget.
Will the student be taking practice exams during classes?
Yes. Since the MCAT requires intensely analyzing very dense material in a
very short amount of time, it is essential for students to experience writing
the test under accurate test conditions. Our classes will provide practice
sections from actual, previously administered MCAT’s for students to
practice their newly acquired skills and strategies. Our longer courses offer
more practice exams.
Do you help with the other aspects of the admissions process?
Yes. In addition to the MCAT, we help students with:
- Medical School Planning - Creating a "medical school profile",
setting target schools and developing a goal list necessary to improve your
chances of admission.
- Personal Statement - Choosing a topic, setting a narrative
perspective and refining key points to address.
- References - Approaching professors, advice on who should
you ask, and writing thank you notes
- General - Admission tips, school specific considerations,
and application timelines.
