University of Alberta Faculty of Law is the oldest faculty of law in western
Canada, established in 1912, located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The University of Alberta Faculty of Law is known particularly for its focus
on the fundamentals of law.
As the first law school in Western Canada, the University of Alberta Faculty
of Law significantly established the practice of law in Western Canada and
is often considered one of Canada's most respected schools of law.
The entrance average is traditionally around 3.7/161 (GPA/LSAT).

Regular Admission Requirements
|
"...completed an undergraduate degree,
or at least the first three years (90 credit hours) of a program leading
to a degree, at the University of Alberta or from a university recognized
by the Unviersty of Alberta"
"...special circumstances, applicants without a degere who have
completed two years (60 credits), or equivalent, of a full program of
studies that would be accepted for credit towards any degree at the
University of Alberta, (this candidate must have a minimum GPA of 3.7
or its equivalent over the two years, LSAT score placing the applicant
in the 90th percentile"

Admission Committee Considerations
|
- rely primarily on GPA and
LSAT score, GPA determined by reference to the applicant's most recent
60 units/credits (equivalent to 10 full courses or 20 half couress) of
study
- GPA and LSAT used to create Prediction Indicator to rank regular applicants,
in limited number of cases, Committee may consider factors beyond the
Prediction Indicator, including difficulty and quality of the academic
program, employment experience, extracurricular and community acitvities,
and physical, cultural and economic factors
- Average instead of best LSAT score considered
